Fence installation in Lehi

Local know-how

Lehi runs from the older neighborhoods around Main Street to hillside communities like Traverse Mountain and the newer subdivisions around Silicon Slopes. Hillside lots here often come with slopes and retaining walls.

On a gentle grade, a vinyl privacy fence can be racked to follow the slope in one smooth line; on a steep one, panels step down. Fence Trac panels are rigid and always step. Along retaining walls, ornamental steel follows the wall and keeps the view.

Before you pick a style, here is what Lehi allows.

Fence rules in Lehi

Know before you build

  • Fences, walls and hedges top out at 6 ft, unless an exception is granted (up to 8 ft).

  • Inside a corner sight triangle, nothing over 3 ft.

  • If a driveway is within 10 ft of the property line, the fence drops to 3 ft for the 20 ft sight triangle.

  • Front yards have a lower limit. Lehi’s published figures differ (36 in versus 4 ft), so we confirm the current number for your lot.

Permits

Lehi checks fences against its development code. We confirm whether your fence needs a permit or zoning review and take care of it.

What it means for your fence

A 6 ft privacy fence fits most Lehi side and back yards. Near a driveway or a corner, plan for the 3 ft sight-triangle drop.

Source: Lehi Development Code ch. 12 (§12.070). Checked October 14, 2026. Codes change and HOAs can be stricter. We confirm the rules for your lot at your free estimate.

Narrow it down in three questions

  • How much do you want to see through it? For full privacy, choose vinyl, Fence Trac or Trex. To keep the view, choose ornamental steel or semi-privacy vinyl.

  • What look is your home and street? Match the style tag: Transitional, Classic, Modern or Traditional. We design to your HOA’s guidelines too.

  • How little upkeep do you want? Vinyl just needs a rinse. Ornamental steel, Fence Trac and Trex never need stain or paint.

We pull any required permits and have Blue Stakes mark underground utilities. We’ll keep you posted as each step wraps up.

    Typical: About 7 days

  4. Installation

Our own crew sets the posts in concrete and hangs the panels, then comes back the next week to hang the gates once the concrete cures. We leave your yard clean.

    Typical: 1–7 days on site

  5. Final walkthrough

We walk the finished fence with you, and we aren't done until it's right.

"Atlas did a phenomenal job on our black 4 ft metal fencing! Our yard was not just a square to work with. We have different levels of cinder block retaining walls that are curved… Tyson went above and beyond to make the necessary alterations to make everything fit seamlessly and it turned out better than we could have expected!"

"Tyson was on the ball and communicated professionally and often. Every other fencing company we looked at ghosted us, or was flaky. Highly recommend!"
