Fence installation in Vineyard
Local know-how
Vineyard is one of Utah County’s newest cities, built on the former Geneva Steel site along Utah Lake. Lots are smaller, many homes are townhomes or in HOA communities, and neighbors are close.
On a smaller lot, a 6 ft privacy fence does a lot of work. A vinyl privacy fence needs only a rinse, and Fence Trac suits the modern architecture in Vineyard’s newer neighborhoods. Front property lines here stop at 42 inches, so privacy fences run from the side of the house back.
Before you pick a style, here is what Vineyard allows.
Fence rules in Vineyard
Know before you build
-
Rear and side yards: no fence over 6 ft.
-
On the front property line, and on side lines within the front yard: 42 in maximum.
-
Fences should fit the surrounding landscape and the neighborhood’s architecture and materials.
Permits
We confirm with Vineyard whether your fence needs review before we build.
What it means for your fence
A 6 ft privacy fence fits your side and back yard. Out front, plan around 42 in, so our 4 ft fences are too tall for the front property line.
Source: Vineyard Community Development. Checked October 14, 2026. Codes change and HOAs can be stricter. We confirm the rules for your lot at your free estimate.

Narrow it down in three questions
-
How much do you want to see through it? For full privacy, choose vinyl, Fence Trac or Trex. To keep the view, choose ornamental steel or semi-privacy vinyl.
-
What look is your home and street? Match the style tag: Transitional, Classic, Modern or Traditional. We design to your HOA’s guidelines too.
-
How little upkeep do you want? Vinyl just needs a rinse. Ornamental steel, Fence Trac and Trex never need stain or paint.

What neighbors say
In their words
"Atlas did a phenomenal job on our black 4 ft metal fencing! Our yard was not just a square to work with. We have different levels of cinder block retaining walls that are curved… Tyson went above and beyond to make the necessary alterations to make everything fit seamlessly and it turned out better than we could have expected!"
"Tyson was on the ball and communicated professionally and often. Every other fencing company we looked at ghosted us, or was flaky. Highly recommend!"
"Atlas did a FANTASTIC job on our fence. The customer service and communication was excellent. Very professional, and wonderful work!"
